How to Make Zero Waste Kitchen Sponges

Hello again guys. Use these handy little homemade kitchen sponges to wipe up spills, wash dishes or do anything you’d normally do with a regular sponge. Then when you are done with them, toss them in the washing machine, or the top rack of your dishwasher, and use them again and again. And since these zero waste sponges are all about eliminating waste, why not challenge yourself to make them from extra fabrics you have on hand.

Materials needed:

  • Two coordinating fabrics
  • Heavyweight tulle (or nylon net)
  • Ribbon (1/4” – 1/2”)
  • Poly-Fil Stuffing
  • Thread
  • Scissors
  • Rotary cutter and mat
  • Sewing Pins or clips
  • Needle for hand-stitching
  • As with most sewing projects you will need an iron, ironing board, and sewing machine.
