How to Make Unsponges

Hey guys. Use these handy little homemade sponges to wipe up spills, wash dishes or do anything you’d normally do with a regular sponge. Then, toss them in the washing machine, or the top rack of your dishwasher, and use them again and again. And since reusable sponges are all about eliminating waste, we are leaning to make them using our left over fabrics. Here is how to get started!

Materials needed:

  • Cotton Quilting Fabric
  • Old Flannel Bedding – brushed cotton – or old thin towelling for the middle padding
  • Muslin, Waffle, or old thin towelling for the scrubbing side.
  • A rotary cutter, mat and quilting measure
  • Scissors, pins and a sewing machine are essential.
