Easy Drawstring Backpack With Pockets

I love drawstring backpacks, especially those with pockets. They are great to put just about anything in. You can choose fun fabrics to fit your personality or decor. They are also really fun to make. This particular drawstring bag can be made using basic sewing skills in no time at all, plus the free tutorial pattern for this makes it a whole lot easier. This pattern just came to me and I just had to share it with you. I just love the simplicity of this design and I know you will too.

Materials needed:

  • Fabric – (your choice! Cotton or snuggle flannel work well, as does thicker utility fabric)
  • Drawstring material of your choice
  • Thread
  • Ribbon – 5/8” grosgrain
  • Scissors
  • Rotary cutter and mat
  • Safety Pins
  • Sewing Pins or clips
  • As with most sewing projects you will need an iron, ironing board, and sewing machine.
